Le son du second album de Soft Machine\u00a0<i><a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"Soft Machine Volume Two\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Soft_Machine_Volume_Two\">Volume Two<\/a><\/i>\u00a0doit beaucoup \u00e0 Hugh Hopper dont la fuzz bass parle d&rsquo;\u00e9gal \u00e0 \u00e9gal avec l&rsquo;orgue de Mike Ratledge. L&rsquo;influence de Hugh Hopper est importante dans la musique du groupe (surtout sur le\u00a0<i><a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"Fourth (Soft Machine)\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fourth_(Soft_Machine)\">Fourth<\/a><\/i>\u00a0en\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"1970 en musique\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1970_en_musique\">1970<\/a>), mais d\u00e9clinera par la suite\u00a0: sur le double\u00a0<i>Six<\/i>\u00a0sorti en\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"1972 en musique\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1972_en_musique\">1972<\/a>, il ne signe plus que\u00a0<i>1983<\/i>, pr\u00e9lude \u00e0 son inqui\u00e9tant\u00a0<i>1984<\/i>\u00a0personnel.<\/div>\n<div style=\"background-color: white; color: #252525; font-family: sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: inherit; margin-bottom: 0.5em; margin-top: 0.5em;\">Dans ce groupe qui ne cesse d&rsquo;\u00e9voluer et o\u00f9 les influences des nouveaux arrivants se heurtent parfois aux go\u00fbts des fondateurs, il estime n&rsquo;avoir plus toute sa place. Robert Wyatt quitte Soft Machine en\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"1971 en musique\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1971_en_musique\">1971<\/a>,\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"Elton Dean\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Elton_Dean\">Elton Dean<\/a>\u00a0en\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"1972 en musique\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1972_en_musique\">1972<\/a>, Hopper en\u00a0<a style=\"background: none; color: #0b0080; text-decoration: none;\" title=\"1973 en musique\" href=\"https:\/\/fr.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/1973_en_musique\">1973<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0In the autumn of 1976,\u00a0 Hopper\u00a0was involved in a short-lived project (one week for a radio jazz meeting) with Carla Bley in Germany, known as the &lsquo;Baden-Baden Workshop&rsquo;; he also formed an experimental jazz quartet with Elton Dean, pianist Keith Tippett and drummer\/synthesizer player Joe Gallivan.
