Isaac Guillory<\/b>\u00a0(February 27, 1947 \u2013 December 31, 2000) was an American\u00a0folk<\/a>\u00a0guitarist.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0He wrote over 70 songs during a career that spanned 30 years.
\nGuillory was born at the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Guantanamo Bay Naval Base<\/a>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Cuba<\/a>, the son of Victoria (Ojalvo) and Easton Joseph Guillory, an American sailor.<\/span>[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0<\/span>His maternal grandparents were immigrants from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Turkey<\/a>, who met and married by arrangement only 10 days before they sailed for Cuba. His family was<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Jewish<\/a>.<\/span>[2]<\/a><\/sup>[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>He attended the Conservatory of Music,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Havana<\/a>, where he studied<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>classical<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>piano at the age of six. Guillory’s mother, a professional musician, taught him to play guitar. When he was 11, Guillory moved to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Tallahassee, Florida<\/a>. At age 14, he moved again to<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Gainesville<\/a>, then finally settled in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Palatka, Florida<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

By age 14, after enrolling in\u00a0University of Florida<\/a>‘s swimming program, he became an assistant swimming instructor. He was a student at\u00a0St. Johns River State College<\/a>, at the time named St. Johns River Junior College, in Palatka. There, he studied the cello and saxophone.<\/div>\n
He married twice, first to the English model Tina Thompson (divorced 1990), mother of Jace and British actress and model\u00a0Sienna Guillory<\/a>, then in 1993, to Victoria McMillan, mother of Jacob and Ellie.<\/div>\n
Guillory died on New Year’s Eve 2000. His death was attributed to complications from cancer that had gone undetected for some time.<\/div>\n
